Hurricane Sandy Relief Bill is a $60 Billion Dollar Pork Laden Disgrace

As the dust clears less than 24 hours after the American people supposedly escaped going over the Financial Cliff, another bill looms on the horizon and is guaranteed to add to the bloodied and bruised PR nightmare that is The Republican Party.

A $60 Billion Dollar Hurricane Relief bill may sit on the sidelines as the Republican’s plan on refusing to vote on the measure.

The Hurricane Sandy Relief Bill is filled with Pork Spending, and is a shining example of how our government uses an “open checkbook” when fleecing its citizens under the ruse of hurricane relief.

Here’s the list, and I suggest that you swallow a few antacid pills before reading:

$336 million in Amtrak expenses, $4 Million to purchase new vehicles for the FBI, $12.9 BILLION for Public Transportation to be allocated for future projects, $150 million for fisheries as far away from the storm’s path as Alaska, $2 million to repair the roofs of Museums,…oh, there’s more.

How about $5.3 BILLION for the Army Corps of Engineers, which is more than their annual budget, $50 Million in subsidies for Tree Planting, $15 Million for NASA, $41 Million to clean up Military bases including Guantanamo Bay, $20 Million for a nationwide Water Resources Priorities Study, $5 Million to projects in rural Nevada (Harry Reid‘s state), and 5 more Million  for Central New Mexico.

In all, there is almost $30 Billion dollars in additional spending tacked to the Hurricane Sandy bill that the Republican’s are refusing to vote on.

The gullible and uninformed will once again denounce Republicans’ as uncaring, selfish, and vindictive.

Those who know better should applaud them!

Unbievable, I was angry with the chairman but I see the politics now. Meanwhile the public is suffering. The government is corrupt and uncaring. And who is the government, us. Like pogo said, we met the enemy and it is us.
